The aim of Roulette is to correctly guess where the ball will land after each spin. By placing bets on the appropriate square(s).  Therefore it is luck that decides if your number hits.

In European Roulette rules there are 37 numbers, 0 is green, 18 are red and the remaining 18 are black. The zero gives the house it’s edge (of 2.7%) i.e. there is a 1/37 chance of the ball landing on any particular square, but the payout is only 35 to 1 + your original stake if you win.

Many versions of roulette are available online, a common variant is 20p Roulette, or sometimes referred to as bookies roulette.  Normally found in bookies, this can be played at Flume Casino, and you can also get an excellent sign-up bonus at the same time. However, most online casinos will offer roulette, check out all our online casinos that offer roulette.

Other variants of roulette include ‘French Roulette‘ which features the ‘En Prison’ rule where half of your ‘even money’ bets (colour, even/odd and high/low bets) are returned when a zero is spun. Cutting the house advantage in half to 1.35%. Note that there is also the similar the ‘la partage’ rule, only in this case the player loses half the bet and does not have the option of leaving the bet.

The worst variant is American Roulette.  In American Roulette rules there are 2 zeros, increasing the house advantage to 5.4%. There is no sense on playing the American version when there are plenty of online casinos offering the European version.

Roulette, although it can have a very small house edge (if playing French Roulette of 1.35%), don’t let that fool you, roulette is a very volatile game. Large wins can come extremely quickly, as can large losses, this is due to the large number of numbers on the roulette wheel, normally 37, if you are betting on a few numbers, then luck is major factor and will create large volatility. For this reason, it has, and no doubt, will always remain one of the top casino games available.

Martingale Roulette Strategy

The Martingale Roulette Strategy is one of the most popular roulette betting strategies around. It is where you bet on an even money bet on the table, IE. High/Low, Red/Black or Even/Odd, if you lose, then you keep doubling the bet until you win. For example, you bet £10 on red > win, bet £10 on red > win, bet £10 on red > Lose, bet £20 on red > Lose, bet £40 on red > win, bet £10 on red > win, and so on, and on, and on. You need to ensure that you establish at the outset what your maximum double up bet is going to be and don’t exceed this, you should also familiarise yourself with the table limits.

We have posted a video on YouTube which illustrates the Roulette Martingale Strategy in action, we have included this below as well.
